Mungo Youth Project Partnership

In partnership with the Mungo Youth Project, a new artists in residence project supporting International artists working with Paakantji, Muthi Muthi, Nygiampaa and Latchi Latchi people, as well as with local schools and in partnership with the Sunraysia Mallee Ethnic Communities Council.

In 2014/15 Japanese artist in residence Yutaka Kobayashi is working with selected students from 3 local schools and the Mungo Youth Project.  Yutaka is facilitating a major collaborative installation titled World’s First Baker, developed with Indigenous and non-Indigenous students over a period of 12 months, to be exhibited at Willandra Lakes Region World Heritage Area for Mildura Palimpsest Biennale 2015.

In 2015, Filipino/Australian artists Alfredo & Isabel Aquilizan are working in collaboration with all of the above groups to develop major installations for both the Willandra Lakes Region World Heritage Area and Sunraysia Mallee Ethnic Communities Council venues.   They are two of Australia’s leading international artists who work collaboratively with communities all over the world.
