Jelina Haines is of Spanish and Malay-Filipino descent and migrated to Australia in 1997 from the Philippines. She works closely and collaboratively with Indigenous communities across Australia, especially the Ngarrindjeri community at Camp Coorong.  Jelina’s art practice focuses in the fields of textile, fibre, wearable art, environmental art and costume design. One of her main goals is to use visual art as a catalyst for community based projects and development.
