Desma Juli began her work as a media artist in 2010. Since this time she has developed her practice in film production, photography and media arts. A Gija woman from Warmun Community in the east Kimberley of Western Australia, Juli has developed her approach through working with her elders to document their knowledge for audiences in Warmun and more broadly. Juli has most recently collaborated with Honi Ryan and Abi Tariq on the site-specific installation work Everything Man Made Can Be Destroyed in Warmun in 2015. These works used video projection to explore memories of the flood that devastated the community in 2011. Her work has screened on Indigenous Community Television and in Warmun Art Centre’s gallery.
